The Roaga is a high-quality sailing yacht operated by Aziab Seafaris, which specializes in climate-neutral tours in the southern part of the Egyptian Red Sea. The ship offers snorkeling and freediving at particularly attractive locations, such as the Satayah Reef (Dolphin House) near Hamata, where resident dolphins romp about in the azure blue sea.
Due to the favorable wind conditions in the Red Sea, the yacht is almost always in a position to travel under sail, thus leaving practically no ecological footprint. Anchoring takes place in sheltered bays and lagoons on the offshore islands, where you can also enjoy a wonderful swim and relax on snow-white beaches. The pristine beaches are also the ideal place for yoga sessions.
The Roaga is a 16-metre sailing yacht from the renowned manufacturer Beneteau with space for a maximum of ten guests, who can be accommodated in five cabins. Meals can also be served in the cozy, small salon if the weather conditions do not permit outdoor dining. This is rarely the case, as the freshly prepared food is usually served outside at the stern of the ship. Tasty oriental starters and dishes are prepared, as well as delicious international plates with plenty of fish and seafood. Alcoholic drinks are not sold on board, but you can buy them in advance on your own (the ship has a refrigerator with a capacity of 140 liters). The power supply on board is mainly provided by solar panels, which feed seven storage batteries. A desalination system ensures that there is always a sufficient supply of water. And if the yacht is unable to sail in a calm, a small auxiliary engine is available.
The Roaga offers five double cabins, of which typically only four cabins with double beds are made available. A smaller cabin, which can be booked on request, is equipped with bunk beds and is particularly suitable for children or yoga teachers. Two of the double cabins each have their own bathroom, while the other cabins share a bathroom. A sixth cabin in the bow of the ship (with its own bathroom) serves as accommodation for the crew. The cabins are not air-conditioned, but are cooled via opening hatches.
The sailing area of the Roaga is the area off Hamata, deep in the south. An excellent anchorage is Satayah Reef with the Dolphin House spot, one of the best places in the world for snorkeling with dolphins. Over 100 resident spinner dolphins live in the six-kilometer lagoon, which is protected by one of the largest offshore reefs in the Red Sea. Other anchorages include the four unspoiled Hamata Islands and the Abu Galawa Reef with the wreck of the "Tien Hsing", a 35-metre-long Chinese tugboat that ran aground in 1943 and eventually sank. The wreck is located at a depth of 2 - 35 meters and is therefore also well suitable for snorkelers.
The snow-white sandy beaches of the four Hamata Islands are perfect for yoga sessions. The unspoiled islands in the deep south are much less frequented by day boats and liveaboards than the islands and reefs to the north. Ideal conditions for the meditative phase, especially as many people find the sea relaxing.
