The Hotel Al Baeirat is a family-run property with ten spacious bungalow rooms and eight double rooms added towards the end of 2023, located in a rural area on the west bank of the Nile. It stands only a few meters from the bank of the Nile, right next to the lush garden-oasis "Banana Island". The village of the same name, Al Baeirat, where there are shopping facilities, can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes. There you will also find small motorboats that will take you (for around one euro per trip) to the opposite shore to the city of Luxor (although the hotel provides its own motorboat free of charge, which takes hotel guests to Luxor and, by arrangement, picks them up again). The numerous attractions on the west bank (such as the Valley of the Kings) are about a 20-minute drive away.
The Hotel Al Baeirat is an oasis of tranquillity, surrounded by farmland and the scattered mud houses of the local farmers. Built on the site of a former banana plantation, the hotel is run by a German-Egyptian couple. The hotel has a very good price-service ratio and its cordial staff passionately looks after the well-being of the guests.
The Hotel Al Baeirat has a pool with sun loungers and umbrellas, which is located just a few meters from the banks of the Nile and offers a very nice view of the river and the opposite bank. Directly above the pool is a large terrace, partly covered with canvas, which also offers an unrestricted view of the Nile. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served there (local beer is available). A restaurant ("The Farmer's House"), which is located just 200 meters from the hotel, is also highly recommended. The terrace is a wonderful place to relax with a cool drink or afternoon tea. A pool table is available to guests free of charge and tired muscles can be regenerated in the adjoining massage room (by appointment). Wifi (varying signal strength) is available free of charge in the public areas of the hotel.
The accommodations at Hotel Al Baeirat are located in the middle of a well-kept, tropical garden among banana trees. The five double bungalows, which are traditionally built in the form of domed mud houses, each contain two rooms. These are very spacious with an area of just over 40 m². The individual entrance to each accommodation leads into a small anteroom with two further doors: one that leads into the bedroom and another that leads into the bathroom with shower/WC. The air-conditioned rooms are decorated with Nubian style elements and have a small sitting area, a kettle and a mini-fridge. Each bungalow has a gazebo in the garden. Connected, the double bungalows are also suitable as family rooms.
The eight double rooms ("Pavilion Rooms") were added towards the end of 2023. They are located at the back of the garden in a building (four rooms on the ground floor and four rooms with a balcony on the first floor). The rooms have a bedroom and a fairly large bathroom with shower/WC. The walls are colorfully decorated with scenes from everyday country life and are equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, an electric kettle and a mini-fridge. Worth mentioning are the particularly comfortable beds.
We offer the accommodation in Luxor in combination with a cultural tour. Rooms without a tour, subject to availability, on request.
