The hotel at a glance

The Sheherazade Hotel is an oriental-style complex with 25 accommodations located in the village of El Beirat, on the west bank of the Nile. The numerous attractions of Thebes West are only a few minutes' drive away, while the center of Luxor on the east bank can be reached in around ten minutes by water taxi or public ferry. Shopping facilities are available in various mini-markets in the village, where there is also an ATM.

The design and decoration of the hotel are all about 1001 Nights, with great attention to detail. Both the Moorish-style architecture and the numerous murals with scenes from 1001 Nights, as well as the oriental furnishings, convey an authentic, Arabian ambience. The hotel is located in a quiet area of the lively town, approx. 300 meters from the banks of the Nile.

The area where breakfast and lunch are served

In the spacious, well-kept gardens there is a pool (towel rental for a small fee), which is open all year round, with a pool bar and two seating areas, which are connected to the in-house restaurant and cafeteria. Breakfast and small plates for lunch are served in a shaded arcade and in the garden, while dinner is served in a large open tent (also local beers and, on request, local wines). There is also a pavilion in the garden where folklore evenings and lectures are occasionally organized or feature films are shown. The hotel also has a large dining room with an aesthetically appealing domed ceiling. Free Wifi is available throughout the complex.

The rooms

The Hotel Sheherazade offers 14 double rooms measuring approx. 18 m² with a double bed or single beds, eight triple rooms measuring approx. 20 m² and three family rooms measuring just under 35 m² with a double bed and two single beds (the bed configuration can be adapted to guests' wishes). All rooms are air-conditioned and have a ceiling fan, a flat-screen TV, a fridge, a balcony or terrace and a bathroom with shower/WC. Smoking is generally permitted in the rooms.
